Aurora borealis observed at Homer, Alaska, on August 10, 2005. A rare display of noctilucent clouds can be seen low on the horizon  Smoke from the summers many forest fires still raging to the north, paints the clouds with a reddish tinge - nature's warming filter. Aug 10 2005
