The barred spiral galaxy NGC 2903 is located about 25 million light-years away in the direction of the constellation Leo and its width is roughly 80,000 light-years from edge to edge. NGC 2903 is known to contain numerous hot spots of violent stellar activity. The picture represents almost 21 hours of total exposure through a 20 inch telescope.
