1.2-m Oschin Schmidt- Palomar observatory, California. Samuel Oschin telescope is a 48-inch (1.22-m) aperture Schmidt camera. Its construction was completed in 1948. It originally used glass photographic plates but the camera is now converted to use CCD imager.
