The atmosphere of Venus is visible just off the edge of the solar limb as Venus begins to egress from the disk of the Sun at 11:07:18 UT during the June 8, 2004 Transit of Venus. This photo was taken at high magnification through a telescope with a special white light solar filter. The image was processed in Photoshop with false color which emphasized edges and transition boundaries.
